Fun in the Sun: DIY Beach Towel with Pockets

$99

with Kim Nixon

Calendar Jul 30, 2024 at 5:30 pm, runs for 2 weeks

This is a beginner sewing project designed for children aged 9 to 15 who have limited experience with a sewing machine. The class focuses on hands-on learning and covers basic safety measures for machine operation, cutting fabric, precise measuring in quarter-inch increments, and sewing straight and corner stitches. Participants will need to bring a beach towel and coordinating fabric to the class, as these materials are not included in the price. The hands-on nature of the class allows students to use a sewing machine to create practical items for their summer vacation, such as pockets for holding beach essentials and a beach pillow that fits inside the towel. Students have the option to bring their own sewing machine or use one provided at the Sewing Original Stitches classroom at Midland PA.

Classes are held at Sewing Original Stitches, 826 Midland Avenue, Midland, PA 15059.
