Join our First-Year Beekeepers class for an engaging introduction to the fascinating world of honey bees! Led by Master Beekeeper Joseph Zgurzynski, this course covers essential topics, including honey bee biology and the equipment needed for successful beekeeping. Students will learn practical techniques to manage their own bee colonies, ensuring a thriving hive in their first year. Country Barn Farm offers all the beekeeping equipment you'll need, and many students find it helpful to purchase and begin assembling their gear before class starts. We recommend reading Storey's Guide to Keeping Honey Bees by Richard E. Bonney and Malcolm T. Sanford prior to the course.
