This is a classroom-based course offering an introduction to honeybee biology and basic approaches to beekeeping. This course will include an overview of honeybee biology and the basic equipment and techniques necessary to be a successful beekeeper. The goal is for students to learn how to keep bees for the first year. Country Barn Farm offers all the beekeeping equipment you need to get started. Textbook: Storey’s Guide to Keeping Honey Bees by Richard E. Bonney and Malcolm T. Sanford

The textbook should be read before the class if possible. Students are responsible for obtaining the textbook.
